About this Model
The method of joining the units together in this model creates very strong locks between the units, resulting in a very sturdy cube.

I wanted a cube to use as a holiday ornament and needed something very sturdy so that it could be used, stored, and reused for many years. This model turned out to be very sturdy and also good for adding decorations to it. When finished, this cube has a slot running across the center of each face, with pockets behind the slot. Origami decorations with tabs can be added easily by inserting them into the units before assembly. Depending on how the tabs are configured, some decorations could be added even after the cube is completely assembled. That is how I added some hearts to the faces of this cube -- see model photo BELOW. These hearts entail a small modification of the Flying Heart model designed by Francis Ow. I am also thinking about making a cube with butterflies added.
