I made this model with 3:4 rectangular sheets of paper for the units, which is suggested by the designer/author as an alternative to the 2:3 rectangular sheets shown in her diagrams. When the model was almost but not quite completely assembled, I hung a traditional origami crane inside, then finished the assembly. The crane could probably be inserted after assembly of the polyhedron, but it seemed easier to do it beforehand.
